JOHN CHARLIER
Story CityJohn B. Charlier, 71, of Story City died of a hear ailment Saturday at Bethany Manor Nursing Home there. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Story City, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Story City Cemetery.
Mr. Charlier was born in Marshall County and had lived in New Providence before moving to Story City in 1958. He had been employed at Woodland Farms and was the retired owner of Charlier Electric. He also had sold milking equipment. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a member of Lions Slub. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
Surviving are his wife, Judith; two sons, James of Boulder, Colo and Bruce of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; three daughters, Barbara Meyer of Fairfield, Marjorie Charlier of Denver, Colo., and Ruth Erickson of Lugoff, S.C.; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
