Sam Severeide, Story City Pioneer Resident Is Dead

Story City, Dec. 20 -- Sam E. Severeide, 80, a resident of Story City for over 60 years, died Friday at 3:30 p. m. from the effects and other complications.

Death took place at the home of his son, Lester, with whom he had been living for a few years. He had been ill for over two months and confined to his bed since Thanksgiving.

His wife passed away some years ago and he leaves four children, Ben Severeide of Nevada, Mrs. V. G. Twisselton of Des Moines and Mrs. Julia Ostrem and Lester Severeide of Story City. He also leaves five grandchildren and one sister, the latter still in Norway.

Final rites will be Monday afternoon with a prayer service at the home at 1:30 and the funeral service at Immanuel Lutheran church at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Story City. The services will be in charge of his pastor, Rev. T. T. Heimarck.
