Iva Lurene (Pauley) Oxley April 26, 1932- Dec. 17, 2012
Iva Lurene (Pauley) Oxley, 80, formerly of Nevada, died on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Madrid Home Communities in Madrid, due to complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Memorial Lutheran Church, 701 11th St., Nevada.

Iva was the daughter of Victor and Hazel (Corbin) Pauley, and was born on April 26, 1932, in rural Unionville, Mo. She attended school in Fernald where she graduated from high school in May 1950.

Iva married Robert Oxley on Sept. 23, 1950, at First United Methodist Church in Nevada. As a newly married couple, Iva and Robert started their family living in a farmhouse outside of Nevada while working for a local farmer, Elmer Paul. In 1956, Iva began her career at Donnelly Marketing, working there for 30 years. She retired in 1986. She enjoyed baking, gardening, dancing, camping and spending time with her family. She was never too busy for a lively card game or to attend the activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Sharon (Gary) Harp, of Sheridan, Ariz., Jolene Oxley, of Nevada, Linda (Michael Mellows) Kingsbury, of Nevada, Mark (Tammy) Oxley, of Nevada, and Steven (Barb) Oxley, of Nevada; 11 argrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Doris (Earl) Otto, of Colo, Virginia Patterson, of Nevada, Violet Corbin, of Fernald, Geri Beiderman, of Des Moines, and Ron (Mary) Pauley, of Lagrange, Ga.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her parents; one son, Michael Oxley; one sister, Shirley Ishmael; and an infant brother, Samuel Pauley.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and Madrid Home Communities.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada.

Chet Ryan Mortuary has been entrusted with the care of Iva and her family.
