From Nevada Representative November 22, 1882
Mrs. Almira Cooke, the aged Mother of Mrs. S. J. Mills, passed away last night at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Cook had, only four week since, come from her home in Lewiston, N. Y., to spend the winter in Iowa, hoping that the change would give her a new hold on the slowly breaking threads of life. But the change and all that loving hearts and hands could do, did not avail. After a brief service at the residence of Mrs. Mills, this afternoon the precious remains are to be taken back to the old home in N. Y. for burial. The kindly sympathy of our people go out to Mrs. Mills and the other relatives of the aged Mother, in their time of sorrow.
SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Mrs. S. J. Cooke" was Sarah Amelia Cooke, wife of Samuel John Mills.
