From Nevada Representative September 6, 1882
The Death of Q. A. Boynton.
A sad accident occurred Friday afternoon about one o'clock. Mr. Boynton was assisting in raisting the iron columns of the front to place, on the new corner block, when the plank, to which the tackle was attached, being insecurely fastened at the rear end, flew over, struck him on top and side of the head and so fractured the skull as to cause death in a few hours. Medical assistance was immediately called, but nothing could be done to present a fatal result. His funeral was attended at his residence at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. Thornbrue. In addition to citizens in general many of the old soldiers were present to assist the last sad rites.
Mr. Boynton was nearly forty years old and leaves a wife and five children to mourn his unhappy decease. He gave three years of his life to his country by service as a soldier. He was a man of generous impulses, and had many friends.
The REPRESENTATIVE tenders to his family and other relatives its sincere condolence in this time of trouble.
