Lake City – Alyce Mae Crandall, 78, died Friday, October 19, 2012 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. Memorial Services were held Saturday, October 27th at Union Church in Lake City with Rev. Betty Weidert officiating. Burial was in the Lake City Cemetery.

Alyce Mae is survived by her husband, Daryl of Lake City IA, sons Scott Crandall and wife Roxy of Lake City IA and Bret Crandall and wife Lori of Annapolis, MD, daughters, Dawn Linderman of Annapolis, MD and Beth Michalak and husband David of Pasadena, MD, and grandsons, Chase Crandall and wife Kim of Carroll IA, Brock Linderman of Annapolis MD, Gavin Crandall and wife Tiffany of Pella IA, Drew and Parker Crandall of Annapolis MD, Leo and Garrett Michalak of Pasadena MD, granddaughter Taylor Linderman of Annapolis MD, great grandson Tallon Crandall of Carroll IA. Also surviving is her brother Melvin Allen of Newton IA and her sister Donna Rae Grossman of Glidden IA. Alyce Mae was preceded in death by her father, Bob Allen, mother, Francis Allen, brother, Bob Jr.

Alyce Mae was born on July 25, 1934 in Lake City IA to Bob and Francis Allen. She graduated from Lake City High School in 1952 and on September 30, 1955 was married to Daryl Crandall in Lake City. Alyce worked at the Calhoun County Treasures Office for many years before moving to Story City and worked as a supervisor for Story County Bank. In 1985 Alyce and Daryl moved to Annapolis MD and lived and worked there for 22 years before retiring and returning to Lake City IA in 2004. Alyce Mae was a mentor for kids at the Union Church of Lake City. Alyce Mae was especially active and supportive of her children and grandchildren. She was their biggest fan.
