Evelyn Jean Loan, 89 of Nevada died on Monday, October 22, 2012. Private family memorial services and internment will be held.
Evelyn was born on December 27, 1922 in Story City to Emanuel and Bergit (Carlson) Gabrielson. She was a graduate of Story City High School and AIB Business School in Des Moines. On February 1, 1944, Evelyn married Ellis E. Loan in Story City. She was a member of the Indian Creek Country Club, Eastern Star, P.E.O., First United Methodist Church, Thimble Club, and other bridge clubs. Evelyn enjoyed playing golf and was the club champion twice at I.C.C.C.

Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Stephanie (David F.) Anderson of Nevada and Susan (G.L.) Hoffman of Wayzata, MN; six grandchildren Lisa (Chris) Nady, Brian (Joanna) Anderson, Jeff (Robbie) Anderson, all of Nevada, Greg (Molly) Anderson of Urbandale, Gavin (Lori) Hoffman of Chicago, and Marin (Jeff) Kemnitz of Minneapolis; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister Thelma Leland of Ames.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband E.E. Loan on December 20, 2010, and a sister Solveig Raymond.

A memorial fund has been established in loving memory of Evelyn for the Story County Medical Center Foundation to be designated for the Senior Care.

Chet Ryan Mortuary of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Evelyn and her family.
