Margaret Olson Testori
BORN: May 24, 1918
DIED: September 22, 2012
LOCATION: Story City, IowaMargaret Olson Testori, 94, of Story City and formerly of Ames and Stanhope passed peacefully early Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Bethany Manor in Story City. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Bethany Manor Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Tuesday, September 24, 2012 at the Bethany Manor Chapel. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Jewel.
Margaret was born May 24, 1918 in Austin City, MN. She was the only child to Anna and William Christopher. They moved to Cambridge, IA where Margaret started school. They later moved to Jewell where she graduated. It was in Jewell, she met Udell Olson. They were married February 27, 1936. They farmed near Jewell. They were blessed with three children - Sharon, Wayne and Mark. In 1946, they moved to a farm east of Stanhope, where they lived until 1974. Margaret and Udell were active members of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Stanhope. In 1974, Margaret and Udell retired to Bella Vista, AR. They were charter members of United Lutheran Church in Bella Vista. Udell passed away in August of 1989.
Margaret was very outgoing and enjoyed many lifelong friendships. She was always active in her church. When her children were in school, she was involved in the PTA. Margaret and Udell loved to fish. She truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
In 1993, Margaret met Neil Testori. It was her good fortune to meet another kind and loving gentleman. They were married on May 5, 1993. They enjoyed traveling and camping in their motor home. Neil passed away in May of 1995.
Margaret is survived by: daughter Sharon Swenson (Alan) of Thompson, IA; son Mark Olson (Bonnie) of Elgin, IL; daughter-in-law Margaret Olson of Ames, IA; five grandchildren: Kimberly McGuire (Harlen) of Stanley, NC; Tammy Swenson (Tim Rieffer) of Forest City, IA; Jennifer Olson (Ben DuBois) of Nevada, IA; Andrea Encina (Claudio) of Aurora, IL; and Sarah Hanlon (David) of Elgin, IL; five great grandchildren: Christopher McGuire (Lindsey) of Ashville, NC, Tyler Koeneke (Stacy) of Garner, IA; Curtis McGuire (Sharyn) of Mt. Holly, NC; Dallas Koeneke (Marissa) of Cedar Falls, IA; and Alexander Encina of Aurora, IL; four great-great grandchildren: Ashlee and Annabelle McGuire; Brody Koeneke and Emmett McGuire.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Udell, second husband Neil, and beloved son Wayne Olson.
Memorials may be directed to the Bethany Manor Chapel.
