Evelynn R. Dillin, 96, of Garner died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at the Concord Care Center, Garner.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. The Cataldo Funeral Home in Garner is in charge of the arrangements.
Evelynn Rotruck Dillin, the daughter of Charles and Edythe (Jones) Wright was born August 12, 1908 in Danville, Illinois. She graduated from high school and attended a business college. She was married to James Ralph Dillin. They lived in Nevada where they owned and operated a hardware store. Evelynn was also employed at the Nevada Journal for 28 years.
After her husband's death in 1976, Evelynn moved to Longview, Washington and in 1984 to Hot Springs, Arkansas. In 1998, she moved to the Prairie View Apartments in Garner to be near her grandson, Dr. Scott Wood. She enjoyed sewing, music and giving piano and organ lessons. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Soroptimist Club and Royal Neighbors of America.
Evelynn is survived by her daughter, Jackie (David) Stuelke of Hot Springs, Arkansas; a step-daughter, Martha (Richard) Churchill of Oklahoma; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; her son, James Dillin Jr. in 1988; and two brothers.
