Charles H. “Chuck” Davis, Jr., 78, of Rossville passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2010. He was a native of Stormlake, Iowa and split his time between Collins, Iowa and Rossville, GA. While living in Iowa he retired in 1992 as an educator and coach with the Iowa School System with 35 years of service. He served in the United States Army from 1953-1955 and had attended the Lafayette Church of God. He was a lifelong sportsman, an avid Tennessee Fan, and he loved to Garden. He was greatly loved and will be truly missed by his family and friends.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. Davis, Sr. and Vera Elizabeth Steele Davis; and stepfather, Clayton Dale Whitmer.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Jo Davis; sons, Charles (Pam), Randy (Mary), Clayton, Rick and Coray Davis; daughter, Patty Davis; step-children, Nathan (Tanya) Scott, Denise (Joe) Bisio, Susan (Jerry) Slay, and Diana Scott; brother, Bill (Verna Kay) Davis; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alfred (Sue) Hinkle, Harvey (Kelly) Hinkle, Ray (Linda) Hinkle, Faye (Ken) Everett, Eula Lucero, and Mildred Cave; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Brock Bruce officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday from 4-8p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
