Norma Swanson
April 9, 1926 - March 21, 2011

Norma Elizabeth Swanson, 84 of Nevada passed away on Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Rolling Green Village in Nevada. Visitation will be on Friday, March 25, 2011 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. Her funeral service will follow the visitation and begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Church with Pastor Myron Herzberg officiating. Norma's final resting place will be in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery in Nevada.

Norma was born on April 9, 1926 to Conard and Jessie (Blickensderfer) Swanson in Story County, Iowa. She attended school in Fernald and graduated from Fernald High School in 1943. After high school she moved to Des Moines where she attended AIB College of Business. In 1948 she was hired by Wolf and Company, an accounting firm, where she worked for 38 years until her retirement in 1986.

She was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, American Business Women's Association, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Norma had a great love for her family and spending time with them along with traveling and various hobbies.

Those left to cherish Norma's memories are her loving sister Isabel Larson of Huxley; two nieces Christine Brooks of Overland Park, KS, and Camille (Alan) Snedden of Normal, IL; one nephew Dave Larson of Des Moines, IA; five great-nieces and nephews; and six great-great-nieces and nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-law George Larson.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Memorial Lutheran Church or Iowa Hospice.
