Leona S. Erickson
October 26, 1921 - April 9, 2011

Leona S. Erickson age 89, died Apr. 9, 2011 at Kansas City Hospice House, in Kansas City Missouri. A 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service will be Saturday April 16, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kelley, Iowa with a gathering of friends and family one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Kelley.

Leona was born on Oct. 26, 1921, in Kenyon MN, the daughter of Lewis B. and Minnie (Munson) Erickson. She graduated from Slater High School in 1939 and worked in Des Moines until 1951 when she moved to Kansas City where she worked for 30 years for Kansas City Corps of Engineers retiring in 1981. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Corps of Engineers Retiree Club and Scandinavian Women's Society all of Kansas City. Leona enjoyed antiquing and coming to Iowa to be with relatives.

Leona is survived by her sisters, Idelles (Jean) Erickson of Kansas City, MO; Ramona Tokheim of Edina, MN; Betty Anderson of Mankato, MN; Patricia Crosley of Park Rapids, MN; many nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and five sisters.
