Velma Arlene Tomlinson
January 20, 1914 - March 23, 2012
Maxwell, IowaVelma Arlene Tomlinson, 98 of Maxwell died March 23, 2012 at Rolling Green Village in Nevada, Ia. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Tuesday March 27 at the Loring United Methodist Church. A private burial will be held at Center Grove Cemetery in Cambridge, IA at a later date.
Velma was born on January 20, 1914, in Story County to Raymond and Minnie (Brown) Reynolds. She graduated from Maxwell High School in 1931. On September 3, 1937 she married Marvin Gale Tomlinson. Marvin and Velma farmed in Polk and Story Counties and raised two children, a son Robert and a daughter, Susan. She was member of the Loring United Methodist Church.
Velma always greeted you with a smile and said she was truly blessed to live a small town surrounded by friends and family. She loved her dogs and cats, especially Reggie, the Iowa State Cyclones and spirited conversation.
She is survived by the families of Pam and Gary Logli, Mike and LouAnn Longnecker, Jeff and Twila Longnecker, Dean and Geri Fuller, Doug and Deb Fuller, Debbie Fuller and Steve Miller and countless friends.
Velma is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Minnie Reynolds, brother Audrey Reynolds, sister Vivian (Anton) Frohlich. Her husband Marvin and a son, Robert Tomlinson and daughter Susan Fuller.
Memorials may be made to Loring United Methodist Church.
