Roger Ihle

BORN: March 15, 1944
DIED: August 7, 2012
LOCATION: Slater, Iowa

Roger Dean Ihle was born March 15, 1944 to Amos and Thelma (Larson) Ihle in Ames, Iowa. He graduated from Ballard High in 1962. He married his high school sweetheart, Sharon "Fitch" Ihle on June 14, 1964. Roger enjoyed camping, boating on Okoboji, snowmobiling, watching old western movies and vacationing on Anna Marie Island in Florida, but his lifelong passion was farming. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them participate in their activities.

Roger peacefully passed away at home with his family by his side, August 7, 2012 at 68 years of age.

He is survived by his wife Sharon of Polk City; his children Mike (Tracey) Ihle, Brian (Cindy) Ihle, Cindee (Tom) Gilbert, and John (Lynsy) Ihle; nine grandchildren, Amanda, Jordan, Kenzie, Cody, Jake, Ben, Ella, Chase, and Parker; and two brothers, Arnold (Sue) Ihle and Donald Ihle and Ginny Ihle.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be designated to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Central Iowa Hospice.
