Jens Larsen

BORN: November 4, 1919
DIED: November 2, 2010
LOCATION: West Palm Beach, Florida

Jens C. Larsen, 90, formerly of Gilbert, died November 2, 2010 in Florida. Visitation is 5-7 Monday, Nov. 9 at Adams Funeral Home. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9 at Gilbert Lutheran Church.

Jens was born November 4, 1919 on a farm near US Highway 69 and the Gilbert Corner. He married Pauline Christiansen June 15, 1943. He was a farmer and worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation. Jens was president of the Gilbert School Board for several years and a member of the Gilbert Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his son, Steven, of West Palm Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Todd Larsen of Brush Creek, TN, Aaron Larsen of Lake Worth, FL and Kara Epifano of Jupiter, FL; and sister, Esther Meyer of Bloomington, MN. He will be missed enormously and remembered for his love of life. We couldn't have asked for a better dad and Papa for our family. No matter how bad a situation he saw the happy side of life. As he would say " You Betcha"
