Robert Petefish

BORN: April 28, 1919
DIED: November 6, 2010
LOCATION: Ames

Robert Harry Petefish, of Ames, entered the house of the Lord on November 6, 2010 after chronic congestive heart failure and congestive obstructive pulmonary disease. He passed away at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines after a stay at Iowa Methodist Hospital from October 31, to November 5. He was 91 ½ years young. Visitation will be Tuesday November 9, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Adams Funeral Home in Ames with Pastor Deanna Pullen officiating.

Robert was born April 28, 1919 on a farm northwest of Elkhart, to Harry Hal and Mae (Kruetzfeldt) Petefish. Robert married Ladine Elva Battles on February 6, 1943 in St. Louis, MO while he was in the Army Air Corps. He was very proud of his service. Bob and Ladine were married for 64 years. To this union three daughters were born. In 1950 they moved to Ames and he was still living in the family home.

Bob joined Northwestern Bell Telephone Company right after he was discharged from the service and worked there for 35 ½ years. He enjoyed his work and still has many great friends from over the years who were co-workers.

Bob is survived by his three daughters, Ann (Donald) Sielert of McKinney, TX, Linda Petefish Rexroat of Norwalk, and Bobbie (Daniel) Gilmore, of Woods Cross, UT; four grandchildren, Kimberly (Ron) Sielert Berdinsky of Frisco, TX, Robert (Tanya) Sielert of Allen, TX, Anthony Gilmore and Robert (Breck) Gilmore, both of Farmington, UT; and seven great-grandchildren, Brett and Kendall Berdinsky, Jason Sielert, Sadie May, Savanna, Luke and Libby Gilmore, and Celias, Josie and Maia Ramiriz.. He also leaves, to mourn his loss, many friends and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ladine; one brother, George; grandson, Dirk Gilmore; second wife, Pauline Byers, who he married October 24, 2009 and she passed away September 14, 2010.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
