Joann L. Peterson

BORN: March 21, 1930
DIED: February 6, 2011
LOCATION: Story City, Iowa

Joann L. Peterson was born March 21, 1930 to John M. and Agnes (Swenson) Ose in Story City, Iowa. She married Kenneth D. Peterson on December 26, 1951. Together they owned and operated Jo’s Gift Corner and Ken’s Paint and Floors for over 35 years. Joann also worked at the Story City Golf Course for many years. She was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City and was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi. Over the years Joann was politically involved including being on the committee for the Story City Swimming Pool. She enjoyed golf, music, antiques and traveling. Joann especially enjoyed attending all her grandchildren’s activities.
Joann passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Bethany Manor in Story City at 80 years of age.

Joann is survived by three sons, Greg (Linda) Peterson of Story City, Steve (Mary) Peterson of Story City, and Jeff (Jackie) Peterson of Bondurant, Iowa; and seven grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter-in-law, Ann Peterson; and three brothers, Edgar Ose, Joel Ose, and Alvan Ose.
