Francis Cisco Nervig

August 29, 1953 - May 6, 2011
Slater, Iowa

Francis Hadley Nervig Jr. (Cisco), 57, of Slater, died Friday, May 6, 2011 at his winter home in Mission, Texas. A visitation will be held from 5p.m. to 7p.m. Friday, May 13 at Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home in Slater. Funeral services will be 1p.m. Saturday, May 14.at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Slater.

Cisco was born August 29, 1953 in Des Moines to Francis and Ann (Fjelland) Nervig. After 30 years of employment, he retired from the John Deere Des Moines works in Ankeny. He enjoyed spending his winters in Texas and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater, ABATE of Iowa, and UAW #450. Cisco enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, and spending time on his pontoon. Cisco loved his time with his kids and his grandson, Tanner. He was very much a people person and enjoyed spending time with his friends or just sitting on his porch greeting people as they went by.

He is survived by his children, Patrick Nervig of Calmar and Katie Nervig of Woodward; grandson, Tanner Heaberlin of Woodward; two sisters, Ruth (Don) Wilson of Colo and Jane Fideler of Slater and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Frances Nervig and Grace Nervig.
