Obituary for James Raymond Hall

Jim Hall went peacefully to his reward from his St. Augustine, FL home on July 16th 2012. Jim was raised on his family's farm in Colo, IA where he helped raise Hereford cattle. After completing his education, Jim left farming and began his career with the Iowa Department of Transportation. Jim was married to Claudine (Dee) Thompson in 1959 and Jim and Dee raised their family of two sons in Nevada, IA. After 42 years with the Iowa D.O.T., Jim retired from his position in the Department of Policy as Governor's Liaison for the State of Iowa on all River Transportation Issues. Jim and Dee relocated to St. Augustine, FL in 2002. During the course of his life Jim's pastimes included golf, boating, watch and clock repair, flying RC airplanes, and Jim owned and piloted his own sailplanes for over 20 years. Jim is survived by his wife Dee of 53 years, two sons Rodney and Steven, two granddaughters, 4 grandsons, and three great grandsons. He will be sorely missed by friends and family.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held at his St. Augustine home on August 19th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. All friends and family are invited to attend.
