Maxwell Tribune: ....Mrs. T. B. Smeltzer received a message on Wednesday morning bearing the bad news that her oldest brother who lived at Freeport, Ill., had died suddenly....

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Mrs. T. B. Smeltzer was Mary Caroline Yount who married Thomas B. Schmeltzer in Stephenson County, Illinois. Apparently, when he came to Iowa he made it "Smeltzer." Mary Caroline Yount and Edwin W. Yount were the children of Henry Yount and Rebecca (Hageman) Yount. Edwin was born 6 April 1836 in Pennsylvania and died 11 March 1903 in Freeport, Stephenson County, Illinois.
