From Nevada Representative March 3, 1880
Iowa Center Items.
Death has again visited our village claiming for its victim Mrs. Emma Moore, the wife of a year, of Oliver Moore and daughter of Mr. M. Daugherty of Nevada. Mrs. M. died very suddenly of Friday, Feb. 27th 1880, at 3 P. M. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Long.
Truly the ways of the Great Being are incomprehensible to us, taking out of existance one so young, and just bidding into womanhood, we can but bow to submission and say "Thy will oh Lord, not mine be done, the numberless friends of the widowed husband extend their true sympathy to him.
"And though he cant conjecture,
Why heavy falls the rod,
Nor realize that it is ment,
To draw him near to God,
Then by the eye of faith he'll see,
Supplied by heavenly grace,
Behind a frowning Providence,
He shows a smiling face."
