From Story County Watchman April 6, 1894

News was received here on Tuesday that Mrs. Sarah Johnson (wife of John Johnson,) formerly of Ames, was dead (the cause of this death not being given.) Also information was received that two of their sons (Johnie and Bertie) while playing with a cartridge, were injured by its explosion. Johnie having lost an eye and Bertie two fingers. Mrs J., leaves a husband and six children.
