FOUL PLAY SUSPICIONED.--On Sunday last, word was received by Mr. C. P. Robinson, County Coroner, that it was suspicioned that foul play had been practiced, causing the death of Mrs. Carolina Benjamin. The death of Mrs. Benjamin had occured about a week previously, but as time wore on, suspicions grew stronger and stronger until it was decided to hold an official investigation and have the matter legally determined. Accordingly, Coroner Robinson summoned a jury, consisting of Messrs. Wm. Lockridge, H. F. Murphey and Dr. A. C. Sheldon, and accompanyied by physicians, Dr's. Boggess and Cook, proceeded to disinter the body and held a postmortem examination. After having a thorough investigation, the Coroner's jury made the following report:

An inquest at the Murphey school, in Richland township, Story county, Iowa on the 30th day of April A. D. 1876, before C. P. Robinson, Coroner of said county upon the body of Mrs. Carolina Benjamin, then and there lying dead, by the jurors whose names are thereto subscribed. The said jurors upon their oaths do say, that having viewed the body and taken the evidence of the witnesses then and there produced before them, the said Caroline Benjamin came to her death from the effect of the product of conception and in consequence of harsh and brutal treatment and complete absence of care and medical attendance.
