Mr. S. L. Lucas, postmaster at Ames, and one of the active and leading citizens of that town for tha past several years, died last week, and was buried with Masonic honors. Mr. Lucas was one of those active men who was always at work, and so directed his efforts as to be successful in his undertakings. He had become well and favorably known throughout the county, and will be sadly missed by his many friends and numerous acquaintances.
