Mrs. Mary E. (Molly) Coffin, 80, died at Young's Nursing Home, 815 Grand, today (Nov 2, 1953)at 10:25 a.m. Death was caused by arthritis and complications. She had been ill for 14 years and had lived at the home for several years. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at theAdams Chapel with the Rev. Robert Pinnell of the First Methodist Church in charge. Burial will be in the Ames Municipal Cemetery. Mrs. Coffin's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Haverly, were pioneers in Ames, coming here shortly after she was born in Iowa county. She became the bride of Elmer J. Coffin in 1904 in Des Moines and he preceded her in death in April 1929. Three brothers also preceded her in death. Surviving her are two sisters, Mrs. Ben Nelson and Mrs. Bertha Foster, both of Ames, and several nieces and nephews. A member of the Methodist Church, she also belonged to the Sans Souci club and the London Bridge Club.
