Mrs. Mary A. Duckworth, who died Monday at her home in Boone, was an old time resident here. She was formerly Mrs. Thomas Black, the family living on the G. H. Maxwell place in the late sixties. Her husband died and she afterward married to Mr. Duckworth and moved to Boone county where she has since lived. Mrs. Newton Briley of this city is a step-daughter of the deceased.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Mrs. Newton Briley" was Lucinda Morris Duckworth, daughter of Thomas Alexander Duckworth and his first wife, Mary Sinclair. Lucinda Duckworth married Isaac Newton "Newton" Briley.

Thomas Alexander Duckworth married secondly the above mentioned deceased, Mary A. Maine, widow of Thomas Black on 11 August 1864.
