DIED.--On Thursday at her home four miles east of Nevada, Mrs. Mary Maroney, as the result of a scratch of a brier of some kind turning into gangrene after several days of intense suffering therefrom. Mary Maroney was born in Ireland 70 years ago and was married to John Maroney 45 years ago, after which they came to Iowa and settled on a farm in Story county. Her surviving children are Mrs. Carmody, Mrs. Morrell, Mrs. Lynch, Dennis Maroney, John Maroney, and Katie Maroney. She has been a life long Catholic and the last rites will be held tomorrow under the directions of that church.
