Lucy Seats was born in Farmington, Trumbull county, Ohio, July 10, 1843; was married to John Cook in Clinton, Iowa, February 24, 1867. Soon afterward they located on the farm one mile south of Cambridge, where they continued to reside as long as they both lived. Three sons were born to them, Fred, Jasper and George, the latter of whom died in early childhood. Mr. Cook died in 1893 and Mrs. Cook continued to reside on the home farm with her eldest son until her death which took place at 12:05 p. m. April 30, 1905, after a long and painful sickness occasioned by an abscess on the lungs.
