DIED.--Word was received here Tuesday evening that H. S. Converse had just died at his residence in O'Keene, Okl., after an illness of a couple of weeks from irrisipelas. For a number of years he lived in this city and points in the county, and was well known to many of our people. His age was about 53 years. He went to that place some three years ago and invested heavily in that territory and was President of one of the banks in that city. He leaves a wife, four sons and two daughters. Mrs. W. C. Johnson, of Grant, is a daughter living in this county. Last evening the Masons of Nevada met in their hall and perfected the arrangement for their reception of the remains arriving at this place the remains arriving at this place during the night, a committee going to Des Moines to meet them. Services were held under the ministration of Rev. Nye and the body was taken to the Nevada cemetery at 10:00 o'clock today for interment.
