From Story County Watchman March 10, 1905

On Monday last at 9:30 Jesse R. Wood dropped dead at the depot platform in Cambridge. He was about to go to Des Moines on the Des Moines and Iowa Falls railway when upon the act of stepping upon the platform he fell backward dead. The remains were taken to Maxwell on the next train where they were duly interred. He was one of the oldest residents of the county and well known to nearly all our people.
