From Story County Watchman January 6, 1905

On Sunday last another old settlers of Story county passed to that bourne from which no traveler ever returnes. At the home of L. Kegley in Madrid, Boone county, W. J. Kegley, on Sunday last. He was amongst the earlier settlers of this county settling on what is known as Kegleys branch. The funeral was held Tuesday.
