DIED--Just afternoon on Friday last Mike French appears to have killed himself at the residence of his brother, C. French near Fernald. He came over from a neighbors where he was working and went up to the room which he had occupied when at his brothers shortly afer which a noise was hear and upon investigating it was found that he had shot himself with a revolver with the result that the shot was so effectual that he lived less than one hour. He was 24 years of age, and well liked in the neighborhood. He was a son of Ira French, of Edison, Neb., a former resident of this county, to which place the remains were sent. He had several brothers and siters in this county all of whom are puzzled as to why he should have taken the step. It is said that a disappointment in which a young lady figures is the cause, but that is mere supposition and hardly credible with a young man of such character.
