Mrs. Martin Hauskins

McCallsburg -- Funeral services were held for Mrs. Martin Hauskins of McCallsburg Wednesday at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg following a prayer service at the Brouhard Funeral Home in Zearing.

She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church and the Sunshine Mission Society.

Pallbearers were Homer Lewis, Orville Ellingson, Henry Aasheim, E.R. Morris, Peter Egenes and O. E. Ritland. The organist was Mrs. Howard Swanson. There were many memorial gifts.

Clara Gertrude Halverson was born Feb. 7, 1894, in Palestine Township near Slater and died at Story City Hospital Aug. 18 at 62.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was united in marriage to Clifford Severtson in 1911. The couple had three sons, Joris, Marion and Harold Severtson. Her husband died in 1918.

She was married to Martin Hauskins April 3, 1926. The couple had two daughters, Ruth and Carolyn. The latter died in infancy.

Surviving are the husband and sons Joris and Harold Severtson of McCallsburg and Marion Severtson of Long Beach, Calif., daughters Mrs. Lewis Owens (Ruth) of Bettendorf; Mrs. Walter Kruger (Lillian) of Arlington Heights, Ill., Mrs. Dwayne Risdal (Maurine) of McCallsburg, Mrs. Marvin Malmin (Darlene) of Des Moines, Mrs. Geneva Lawson of Evanston, Ill., three brothers -- Roy Halverson of Kelley, Lester Halverson of Slater, Burton Halverson of Carroll, sisters Mrs. Lawrence Fausch of Alleman and Mrs. Richard Sydnes of Des Moines, and 12 grandchildren.
