From Story County Watchman April 8, 1904

Mrs. Amelia Hanson died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter* one mile north of town, at the age of 82 years. She leaves four sons and two daughters to mourn her loss. The funeral services were held on Tuesday from the house under the direction of Rev. Sanford aided by a Danish clergyman from Des Moines.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: In the 1900 census, Amelia Hanson lived with her daughter, Hannah Hanson (b. ca. 1848 in Denmark) in Milford Township, Story County, Iowa. In the 1925 census, Hannah Hanson lists her parents as Nels Hanson and Amelia Stoebd.
