Oliver Spencer Riddle, aged 67 years, a member of the Iowa Soldiers' Home died at the hospital Monday morning at 9:55 after a few days' illness with pneumonia. Mr. Riddle came to the Home from Maxwell, on October 4; and had been in his usual health until he contracted a severe cold, which terminated in pneumonia. Mr. Riddle was a veteran of the Twelfth Indiana light artillery, having enlisted Jan. 14, 1862, at Jeffersonville, Ind., as a private. He was discharged at Louisville, Ky., Aug. 13, 1862, on account of illness, having contracted lung trouble. Mr. Riddle was a native of Ohio, having been born at Cincinnati. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Eva Riddle, living at Maxwell, and four children. The latter are Mrs. Ross Day and Mrs. Ethel Dodd, of Collins; Walter Riddle of Nevada; and Miss Florence Riddle of Maxwell.
