From Story County Watchman December 18, 1903
Another of our oldest settlers has passed away, this time being in the person of Mrs. Wm. Donahoo of Iowa Center. She came to this county in 1854 and had resided at that point ever since bringing up a family which have been an honor to her in her old age. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Hall, in Maxwell, on the 11th inst., aged about 93 years. She united with the M. E. church in 1828, and has always borne the reputation of a thorough going and religious lady, and as such stood high with her neighbors all of whom admired her greatly. The funeral was held in the church in Iowa Center, Rev. Urbino officiating, and she was carefully laid to rest where she had spent almost her entire life.
