DIED.--Word was received by Lant Lockwood last Wednesday night that Mrs. J. B. C. Lockwood had just died at Portland, Oregon. Mr. Lockwood at once notified the parent of Mrs. L. J. L. Dana and wife, of her death. Her age was about 40 years. We are not advised but understand that the remains will be interred at either Seattle or Portland. She was known as Miss Mabel Dana and was one of the best of our young ladies of that day and made a woman correspondingly good, and her many friends hereabouts are greatly grieved over the sad event--being taken off just in her prime and usefulness, and extend the parents and sorrowing relatives in general their sympathy at the event.
