Obituary.

Miss Alice Floratine Barker was born at West Union in Stuben county in the state of New York on September 22, 1860, and died at the home of her parents, Saturday March 28, 1903, at 7 p. m., at the age of 42 years, 6 months and 6 days.

At the age of six she with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Barker, migrated to this place where her parents settled on the farm in this section where they new reside.

Alice Floratine Barker was one of nine children of which four besides herself have gone to meet their Maker beyond the clouds while three brothers and one sister are left with her aged parents. Mr. Barker being 74 years old and Mrs. Barker is nearly 73 years of age, to mourn the loss of the dear beloved sister and daughter.

Alice Floratine Barker fell about seventeen years ago and stuck her head on a large timber and ever since, for the past fifteen years, she has been an invalid and has been confined to the house but never-the-less she has borne her suffering with patience putting her trust in the one that doeth all things well.

It is said by her parents that she was a noble girl and woman never being known to give her parents or any one else a cross or a hard word.

She was a faithful scholar in Sunday school and when her health would permit she was always found in her class.
