From Story County Watchman December 19, 1902

According to the Kansas City Star of the 9th Chauncy Craig died in that city that morning leaving a wife and four children. He had been seriously ill for some time. He formerly lived in this city and will be remembered by the older people here with regret that the end should have been reached at this time. His age was 62 years. At one time he held the position of street commissioner and was considered as one of the best of our citizens.
