From Story County Watchman October 31, 1902

The death of Frank Bryant of Sanderson, Texas, was given out here the first of the week with the statement that he had been killed by Mexican. Different reports have been received as to the cause but they are all surmise. The probable one is that his room was entered for the purpose of obtaining cash he had just drawn for the month and in the resistance was killed. He had forwarded his check to his wife hence that was not secured. The body was reshipped to Ames for interment. He was well known here and stood high in the esteem of our people all of whom are sorry to known the sad ending.
