McCallsburg Tribune: ....Jonathan Smith was born in Fenvay, County Antrim, Ireland, August 5 1839, and died March 12, 1902, aged 62 years 7 months and 16 days. He moved in Illinois May 1, 1860, and to Story county, Iowa, in March 1875. In 1878 he was united in marriage with Mary Smay, who with their son, George aged 8*, are to mourn his death.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: George Washington Smith was born 3 August 1884 and was therefore almost 18 at the time of his father's death.
