From Story County Watchman February 28, 1902
Another old time resident of Story county has received his reward and been taken to that place of home likeness from which none ever return-- the unknown land toward which we all are tending. We refer to that old timer here Addison Davis. He left here many years ago and made his home in Los Angeles, Cal., where he always was anxious to welcome his many Story county friends to his home. His decease came quietly and in peace at his home in that city on the 20th, inst. He was among those who will long be remembered in Nevada but those of to-day know little of him and his life. He was a member of the 14th Iowa infantry during the war of the rebellion and returned home afterwards going to the golden state.
