Collins Liberator: ....Clayton Whitney died last Friday at his home on Reese Pritchard farm, one mile east of Maxwell.

Maxwell Tribune: ....Irwin Clayton Whitney died at his residence, one mile east of Maxwell Friday, November 29, 1901. He was born in Lorain county, Ohio, June 17, 1865.
