Ames Watchman.

Mrs. R. B. Shearer died on Monday last at her home here at quite an advanced age. She was one of the older settlers of this section and lived here from the earlier settling of the country. She leaves a family to look forward to a meeting beyond the river.

Ames Intelligencer: ....James Shearer and wife of Janesville, Wisconsin, arrived in Ames Tuesday, called by the death of Mrs. R. B. Shearer. Robert, Thomas and John Shearer of Texas, sons of the deceased, will reach Ames as soon as permitted by train facilities.
