Ames Times: ....Mrs. Harriet West died at home in Rock Rapids last Friday, Nov. 1 at five o'clock a. m. and was buried on Sunday afternoon....

Ames Intelligencer: ....After weeks of patient illness Mrs. William West, the mother of Mrs. J. W. Ramsey and Miss Harriet West, departed this life last Friday morning. The funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon, from the house, and conducted by Rev. Carr assisted by Rev. Beardsley.
