Mrs. J. W. Shaw died at her residence in Colo Thursday morning after a short illness. The funeral was held today by Rev. Frank Caldwell. An obituary could not be obtained for this issue but will appear next week.

Margaret Zook was born in Montgomery county, Ind., Oct 29, 1844. She moved to Livingston county, Ill., with her mother in 1855 and was united in marriage to J. W. Shaw Oct. 8, 1863. To this union were born four children: Carrie, Frank E., Wilbur F. and Fannie May. The youngest child, Fannie May died Dec. 18, 1881. In December, 1563, Mrs. Shaw was converted and united with the U. B. church of which she remained a member until moving to Colo, she united with the Methodist church, of which she was a faithbul and consistent member until her death Aug. 22, 1901, aged 56 years, 9 months and 23 days.

Rev. J. F. Baker was called last week to Colo by telephone to preach the funeral sermon of Mrs. J. W. Shaw, who had just died at that point, he having been the former pastor of the lady at that point, and standing high in her esteem.
