Aaron Sleppy, a farmer living south of Ames, was struck by No. 61, a passenger train on the Des Moines branch of the North Western Friday afternoon. He was walking from Ames to Kelley and being rather deaf did not hear the engine whistle. Mr. Sleppy was well known in this vicinity. He leaves a wife and twelve children. The remains were buried in the Ames cemetery Sunday afternoon after ceremonies at the Methodist church conducted by the pastor, Rev. Baxter. The family have the sympathy of their numerous acquaintances and friends.
