From Story County Watchman December 28, 1900

Cambridge Dispatch: ....Mrs. Nancy Guthery died December 17, 1900, at the home of Mr. Rohr in Cambridge. Death came to her relief at the ripe age of 87 years and 9 months. Rev. Graves conducted the funeral service at the house and the remainse were taken to Madrid for burial.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Nancy Guthrie's maiden name is strictly an educated guess. Nancy was the aunt of Mrs. John Rohr nee Mary Davis. Mary (Davis) Rohr was the daughter of Matthew Davis and Mary Taylor. Therefore, Nancy is the sister of either Matthew Davis or Mary Taylor. Matthew Davis was born ca. 1807 in Ohio and Mary (Taylor) Davis was born ca. 1809 in New Jersey. Nancy is listed as born in New York ca. 1813 with parents born either both in Pennsylvania or New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Based on this and the fact that the Paul D. Taylor family from New Jersey are next door to them in the 1850 Ogle County, Illinois census, I am fairly confident that Nancy is a sister of Mary (Taylor) Davis.
