Mrs. Peter Hanson died at her residence north of the railroad Thursday after an illness of a couple of weeks duration at the age of some 40 years. She leaves a husband and family to mourn her loss and took look forward to a meeting where parting shall be no more.

From Story County Watchman December 21, 1900

Mrs. Peter Hanson departed this life Thursday, December 13, 1900, after an illness of but about two weeks. See leaves a family of six children and husband to mourn her loss. The babe is but two weeks old.

Funeral exercises were held in the Lutheran church Saturday afternoon and were conducted by the pastor Rev. A. B. Shrader.

A large concourse of sympathetic friends met to pay loving tribute to the memory of the departed. Mr. Hanson is section foreman on the Northwestern and his many friends sympathize with him in his great loss.
