Slater News: Pell Turner, an aged citizen dropped dead Tuesday morning in his home northwest of Slater.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: John Pell Turner was the son of Orsamus Turner and Clarinda (Sanborn) Turner. He was born 15 April 1849 and died 4 December 1900. His mother dying in 1870, he lived the rest of his life with his father in Garden Twp., Boone County, Iowa. This "aged citizen" was 51 years of age at his death.
